Import the H5 DOD library

First start by loading the UT4-CA Modeller project…

From the Options menu, select Import hdf pols.

Select all the 3ms h5 files and press OK. The import will take a while. As of this writing there are a few files that will not import and show an error. Just press ok to continue until all the files are finished processing.

Configure a specific ordnance library

Load the UT4-CA project. From the MQO tab, click the configure library button.

Configure a library

  1. Name the Library Config. Something descriptive suitable to your task.
  2. Set the Match Mode. For screener data we typically match on the L1 pol only.
  3. Set the First Inverted TG. For screener data a typical first time channel is 24 (0.26ms).
  4. Set the Scale factors. In this example a value of 6.17 is used. Factors such as transmitter and receiver geometry characteristics can change these values, so be sure to confirm these values.
  5. Select a subset of ordnance items appropriate for your task. In this example we are selecting small and medium ISOs that could be used in an IVS test.

Exporting library metadata

Applies to BTField version 15.4.0 and onward.

The Library Configuration dialog has an Export Library button that writes the metadata of every library item included in the current configuration to a delimited text file. All included items are exported — including any that are hidden by an active filter. Use it to produce an external record of what is in a library configuration, and in particular to locate the source files the items came from.

Pressing Export Library opens an Export Library Metadata save dialog:

  • Format: CSV (default) or TXT.
  • Default file name: LibraryExport_<config>_<yyyyMMdd_HHmmss>.csv.
  • Contents: one row per library item in the configuration, including identifying metadata and the originating .h5 filename that the item was imported from.

The source .h5 filename is recorded when the item is imported and is also shown in the Source H5 column of the Library Configuration dialog (BTField 15.4.3 and onward). Because only the filename is kept (not the full import path), the export is intended to help you match the listed items against an external folder of .h5 files.
